Massage Therapy FAQ Vienna VA | Treat Pro Massage

Massage Therapy FAQs

Choosing the right massage therapist is especially important when you are recovering from an injury, experiencing ongoing muscular discomfort, or coordinating massage with physical therapy or chiropractic care. At Treat Pro Massage, we want clients to understand our approach before scheduling.

Below are answers to common questions about our therapeutic, orthopedic, integrative, and rehabilitation-focused massage services in Vienna, VA.

  • What type of massage therapy do you provide?

We provide several massage therapy options based on different client needs. Our services include therapeutic massage, sports rehabilitation massage, myofascial release massage therapy, massage with cupping, Swedish massage, foot acupressure therapy, and targeted massage services.

We also provide focused services for neck and shoulder pain, lower back pain, migraine-related concerns, TMJ-related tension, sciatica symptoms, and frozen shoulder.

Our practice specializes in therapeutic and rehabilitation-focused massage rather than relying on one technique for every client.

  • What is orthopedic massage?

Orthopedic massage is a focused approach to massage therapy for muscular and soft-tissue concerns associated with movement, physical stress, injury, or recovery.

At Treat Pro Massage, our orthopedic and integrative approach means we consider your symptoms, movement limitations, comfort, and overall recovery goals before determining how massage should be approached.

Massage therapy does not replace diagnosis or treatment from a physician, physical therapist, chiropractor, or other qualified healthcare professional.

  • Do you provide deep tissue massage?

Our therapeutic massage sessions can include deeper or more focused work when appropriate for the individual.

However, we do not assume that deeper pressure is always better. Pressure should be based on your goals, comfort, physical condition, and stage of recovery.

For clients with injuries, post-operative concerns, or certain health conditions, a more measured approach may be appropriate.

  • Can massage help after a car accident?

Massage therapy may be incorporated into a car accident recovery plan when appropriate.

Our work focuses on massage-related concerns such as muscular tension, stiffness, discomfort, and soft-tissue restrictions. We also have experience working alongside chiropractors and physical therapists when clients are receiving coordinated care after an accident.

Massage does not replace medical evaluation following a collision. New, severe, or unexplained symptoms should be evaluated by an appropriate healthcare professional.

  • Do you provide massage for work-related injuries?

Yes. We work with clients experiencing muscular concerns associated with workplace injuries and repetitive physical stress.

Work-related discomfort may involve the back, neck, shoulders, legs, or other areas depending on your occupation and injury.

If you are already receiving physical therapy, chiropractic care, or medical treatment, massage may serve as a complementary part of your recovery plan when appropriate.

  • Do you offer sports massage?

Yes. We provide Sports Rehabilitation Massage Therapy for athletes and active individuals.

Sports massage may be appropriate for muscular stiffness, overuse, training-related tension, and certain recovery needs. You do not need to be a professional athlete to schedule a sports massage.

If you have an acute or significant injury, seek appropriate medical evaluation before relying on massage therapy.

  • Can I receive massage after surgery?

Possibly, but the appropriate timing depends on your procedure, healing progress, medical circumstances, and healthcare provider's recommendations.

Post-operative massage should not begin according to a universal timeline. We encourage clients to follow restrictions established by their surgeon or rehabilitation team.

Once massage is appropriate, we can focus on muscular stiffness, tension, and soft-tissue concerns within our professional scope.

  • Do you work with physical therapists and chiropractors?

Yes. This is an important part of our integrative approach.

We can work alongside physical therapists and chiropractors when massage therapy is incorporated into a broader rehabilitation or care plan.

Each professional has a different role. We focus on muscular and soft-tissue concerns while respecting the treatment and rehabilitation recommendations of the other healthcare professionals involved in your care.

  • Do you provide massage for chronic pain?

We work with clients experiencing ongoing muscular discomfort, including back pain, neck and shoulder pain, stiffness, and other soft-tissue concerns.

Because chronic pain can have many causes, massage therapy should not be viewed as a cure for an underlying condition. Our role is to address massage-appropriate muscular concerns and provide an individualized therapeutic approach.

  • Do you offer migraine, TMJ, and sciatica services?

Yes. We offer focused services for migraine-related concerns, TMJ-related muscular tension, sciatica symptoms, and frozen shoulder.

These specialized services are currently priced at $220 and require a pre-treatment consultation.

The consultation allows us to understand your concerns before determining whether the requested massage service is appropriate. These services do not replace medical diagnosis or treatment of the underlying condition.

  • Do you work with clients who have Parkinson's disease or MS?

Yes. We offer consultation-based supportive massage services for clients experiencing muscular stiffness and mobility concerns associated with conditions such as Parkinson's disease and multiple sclerosis.

Massage does not treat or cure Parkinson's disease or MS. Our focus is on muscular comfort, stiffness, and soft-tissue concerns.

Clients should continue receiving appropriate care from their physicians, neurologists, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Do you offer massage for relaxation?

Yes. Although Treat Pro Massage primarily focuses on therapeutic, orthopedic, and integrative massage, we also provide Swedish relaxing massage.

Our Swedish massage is available in 60- and 90-minute sessions. We also offer a 90-minute Ultimate Relaxation Massage Therapy session with additional skull relaxation work or foot reflexology.

  • Do you accept medical cards?

Yes. Treat Pro Massage accepts medical cards for payment. This provides eligible clients with an additional payment option that is not always available at traditional massage practices.

Financing through Affirm may also be available for eligible purchases through the online booking platform. Financing approval and terms are determined by Affirm.
